The Swedish section of ISCM has taken part in the international society’s work of helping new art music since 1923. We also strive to be a key actor in the development of Swedish musical lifethrough collaborations with other actors, and we are the owner of Sweden’s only periodical dedicated to new art music: Nutida Musik.
The Swedish section has around 200 members. The international network now consists of 52 sections from 48 countries around the world.
Each year, ISCM presents the World New Music Days in one of the member countries. This is a combination of a festival and world congress for new art music– one of the largest annual undertakings in the world for this music. Apart from arranging the festival, members work bilaterally with diverse projects and cultural exchanges.
